Job Advert Summary
To manage all Rand Water Facilities and related services such as Building Maintenance (all aspects), Assets Management, Catering, Switchboard and Conferencing as well as space planning and allocation, and facilities related projects to ensure productivity and cost effectiveness. This requires a dynamic, technically diverse knowledgeable, organised candidate.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education: National Diploma (Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalents
Desired Education: 3-year qualification plus a Certificate in Project Management and/or Facilities Management
Minimum Experience: Minimum 8 years in the Electrical, Mechanical or Production/Manufacturing industry with 3 years in a management position
Code B drivers licence
Primary Duties
Extensive knowledge and experience of electrical reticulation of a large modern building.
Thorough working knowledge of large central air conditioning plants HVAC.
Managing the Electronic air conditioning system controls and or Building Management system including lifts and solar systems.
Thorough working knowledge of electronic maintenance system (MAXIMO)
Thorough knowledge of security monitoring and access equipment.
Ability to formulate, motivate and manage suitable working budgets for Facilities maintenance and associated matters. Monitor, explain and mitigate variances.
Good business acumen and thorough knowledge of contractors and good prices
Good design knowledge of furniture, layouts and space design
Thorough knowledge of entire building cleaning services especially carpet and floor care
Knowledge of rendering a canteen facility to a large building and satellite facilities
Knowledge to administrate a cost effective and efficient Conferencing function
Thorough knowledge of the OHS Act to ensure a safe working environment
Understanding and good interpersonal skills, good negotiator
Good Project Management skills and able to manage day & night shift teams.
Good working knowledge of IT network, MAXIMO, SCADA, BMS and PLC skills
Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures
CCTV & fire detection and suppression system, assessment, installation and maintenance.
Support, promote and drive towards all aspects of Green Building implementation.
Ensure compliance with the financial regulations and standards of Rand Water
Comprehensive reports and advice (Technical, managerial and strategic)
