Job Advert Summary
This role works closely with the HOD and Product teams to manage the lifecycle of the supplier/factories, from onboarding to ongoing management of supplier relationships and the delivery of a fit for future and strategic supply base.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree/Diploma and/or equivalent
A background in Fashion Retail, in a Sourcing/Supply role (Essential)
7 – 10 years experience in a similar role (Essential)
Knowledge of international suppliers, supplier set up, management and onboarding processes. (Essential)
Knowledge of Excel (Intermediate/Advance) (Essential)
The ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of Retail, including Buying, Merchandising and Design (Essential)
Shows strong awareness of current sourcing trends, market conditions and opportunities within a Global context (Essential)
Flexibility to travel, as required (Essential)
Duties & Responsibilities
Support the HOD in developing & maintaining a fit for future supply base which delivers the right product at the right time with enhanced profitability
Research, develop and attract new suppliers, product categories, manufacturing territories in line with the brands development
Ensure new and existing suppliers work to and meet brand ethical and sustainability objectives
Work collaboratively with the product teams to commercially validate new suppliers and ensure costing and pricing exercises are completed comprehensively
Ensure communication with any potential new suppliers is consistent and suppliers have adequate feedback to progress
Guide and mentor new suppliers through initial order process until established
Collaborate with suppliers to manage capacity for sampling and production for on time delivery and margin advantage.
Support the HOD with regular analysis and evaluation of the existing supply base with the development, introduction and implementation of supplier performance management and strategic plan.
Work with existing suppliers to ensure potential is maximised and collaborate with the product teams to ensure those opportunities are developed.
Support the Product Teams in investigating and resolving any issues as they arise
Collaboration with Finance on currency and terms management
Collaboration with Supply Chain and Logistics and the warehouse.
Stay Abreast of any developments or Challenges in both the local and international supply chain and manage risk and opportunities
Managing and Supporting all Relations with All External Supply Chain Related Institutions Ie: National Clothing Retail Forum, Sactwu, National Bargaining Council, Nulaw, IDC, DTCI etc.
