Full Job Description
We undertake a wide range of examinations in our department and you will be supported by our team of friendly Sonographers to acquire the practical skills required to complete the course. It is anticipated that the trainee will join the team after qualification if a post is available.
- To undertake the practical training and academic study required to be awarded the post graduate certificate in medical ultrasound.
- To complete the course within the 14 month period of the secondment.
- Work with your supervisor to ensure that all required elements of the training are successfully completed.
- To communicate with all patients and visitors in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
- To ensure accurate data input using the appropriate computer system(s) of EPIC/PACS.
- To take part in the Quality Assurance Programme.
- To report faults, breakdowns and incidents to the Radiology Ultrasound Manager.
- To comply with all Trust and department policies and procedures and professional code of conduct.
- To have an awareness and contribute to the implementation of the directorate risk management strategy.
- To participate in audit.
- To undertake mandatory training as required.

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £38.00. This fee will be deducted from your second month’s salary.
