Chief Directorate: Physical Resources and Property Management
SALARY : R795 147 per annum, all-inclusive package to be structured in accordance with
the set rules.
CENTRE : Cape Town
REQUIREMENTS :
Degree in Engineering; Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA;
Three years’ experience post qualification; Valid Driver’s Licence; Computer
literate. Assist with the provision of electrical engineering inputs and guidance
which include all aspects of innovative and complex engineering applications
for the development of infrastructure strategies, policies, systems, norms,
standards and signing off on electrical installations. Knowledge: Relevant
experience of three years post qualification and relevant experience working
on Infrastructure Projects from inception to completion. Candidate must be able
to work independently and within a team. Need a good understanding of
infrastructure planning and systems that can contribute towards the timeous
development of education infrastructure. Need a good understanding of and
experience in project management. Skills: Candidates must have the ability to
prepare reports and draft submissions. Contribute towards the development of
strategies and systems for the planning and implementation of education
infrastructure. Plan and manage the implementation of infrastructure projects.
DUTIES :
Develop and maintain technical and functional norms and standards from an
engineering perspective. Investigate proposals for innovative service delivery
mechanisms and undertake feasibility studies. Compile electrical briefing
documentation and specifications. Provide inputs to the determination of the
Construction Procurement Strategy, the User Asset Management Plan and the
Infrastructure Programme Management Plan. Investigate electrical
engineering installations and oversee commissioning of electrical engineering
installations. Candidates must be able to undertake research related to
innovative and sustainable infrastructure development and be able to plan and
implement projects related to this.
