Job Description
To ensure that deceased estates are onboarded, administered and finalised professionally based on the Administration of Estates Act 66 of 1965 and other applicable legislation
Ensure compliance to legislative and audit requirements and adherence to relevant processes
Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery, collaboration and innovation
Prevent wastage and identify process improvements to contain and reduce costs
Complete the full end to end estate management process independently and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Identify new business opportunities and create leads for both the Fiduciary and Firstrand
Attend to the finalisation of the deceased’s entity’s tax affairs including but not limited to Income Tax, Estate Duty, Capital Gains Tax and VAT
Assess progress using the relevant MI Reports and through regular estate reviews to develop plans or strategies to avoid or minimise problems or delays in administration
Identify new business opportunities following from the liquidation of a deceased estate
Lodge various documents with the Master of the High Court
Protect and preserve estate assets
Realise or transfer estate assets
Settle estate’s liabilities and administration expenses
Finalise deceased entity’s tax affairs,
Distribute the estate beneficiaries either in terms of the
deceased’s will or the Intestate Succession Act 81 of
1987
Identify, research, consult and solve complex issues in the administration of estates relating inter alia to legal, financial and tax with a high degree of skill and knowledge
